I cannot wait to see and try new technologies out in the market. I was trying to dig in iOS development and learn cocoa programming but could not afford the time. Finally I got some time and spent to develop my first iOS application for iPhone, iPod and iPad using xcode 4.4. It is very interesting to learn however I had to mess around with developer certificate and provisioning certificates configuring testing device and my iMac.

Finally I got it configured, I forgot to mention I had to subscribe for iOS developer program  and it cost me $99 for one year which is a bit expensive considering android developer program (cost $25).

The concept for the first application is to build a Bengali Dictionary called Ovidhan (means dictionary) targeting Bangladeshi iOS users. This application fetch data from the remote  server. The data is in image format in Bengali transcript so that it will be readable even though  if the device does not support UTF-8 fonts. It was in the review queue for two weeks and finally approved the iTune authority. Here is the screen shot –

My second application released after the first one with in a week. This application has been developed based on the current Transport system of Western Australia. It provides bus, train and ferry time table from the Transperth’s website. It is available in iTune store to download for free. Just look for Transport WA application. This application is developed for iPhone and iPod device however it can be downloaded into iPad. Here is the screen shot for the second application –
